Point cloud data - Intersection in Iceland

Sunnyvale, CA– [April, 8, 2025] – Seyond, a global leader in high-performance LiDAR solutions, is proud to announce its strategic partnership with Reykjafell, one of Iceland’s premier providers of complete solutions for the electrical industry. This collaboration will scale the deployment of Seyond’s ITS Management Platform (SIMPL) to Iceland, enhancing the country’s ability to optimize its transportation systems with advanced LiDAR and perception software.

Seyond will be working with Reykjafell’s transportation, division, which offers a range of high-tech solutions for transportation, aviation, and EV charging. Reykjafell’s deep expertise in the electrical industry, combined with Seyond’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions, paves the way for cutting-edge infrastructure advancements in Iceland.

Reykjafell will bring Seyond’s SIMPL solution to municipalities, and transportation agencies a cross Iceland. SIMPL combines ultra-long range, high-fidelity LiDAR, and Seyond’s traffic perception software, which is powered by a robust edge processor. Delivering unmatched accuracy in all weather and lighting conditions, SIMPL detects and classifies all road users—including pedestrians and cyclists—without collecting biometric data. It tracks their trajectories, providing precise insights on counts, speed, size, and safety. Spanning both highways and intersections, SIMPL delivers unparalleled tools for real-time traffic data collection, decision-making making, and integration to cities, departments of transportation, tolling agencies, and concessions owners.

“We are committed to providing only the best products to meet our customers’ needs, which is why we chose Seyond as a trusted partner,” said Omar Gislason, Head of Business Development at Reykjafell. “Working with Seyond aligns with our mission to provide cost-effective, innovative, sustainable, and data-driven solutions to our clients. SIMPL’s ability to offer real-time, precise, and actionable insights is a game changer for urban mobility in Iceland.”

“We are excited to join forces with Reykjafell to deploy SIMPL in Iceland,” said Philip Lassner, Head of Global ITS Business of Seyond. “With deep customer relationships and a strong understanding of their customers’ pain points, Reykjafell provides the ideal environment for deploying and growing SIMPL in Iceland. Together, we will cost-effectively enhance infrastructure and improve operational efficiency across the Icelandic transportation sector.”

By delivering SIMPL to Iceland, both companies are setting the stage for smarter, safer, and more efficient transportation and infrastructure management. The partnership underscores a shared commitment to leveraging LiDAR-based solutions for the benefit of communities and businesses across Iceland.
